Best routes for a Mazda CX-3 rental
The CX-3 is the right car for the paved routes that most visitors drive: Tbilisi to Batumi along the main highway, the wine villages of Kakheti around Telavi and Sighnaghi, Mtskheta, Gori and Uplistsikhe, and the Georgian Military Highway to Ananuri and Kazbegi. The all-wheel drive helps on wet mountain roads and the gravel approaches to guesthouses, but its ground clearance is that of a crossover, not a jeep. Do I need a deposit for the Mazda CX-3?
A refundable cash deposit of about $200 is taken at pickup and returned with the car. You get it back when you bring the CX-3 back in the condition you received it. You pay the deposit at pickup, not online.
Can I take the Mazda CX-3 to Kazbegi or into the mountains?
Yes, on the main mountain roads. The CX-3 handles the Georgian Military Highway to Gudauri and Stepantsminda and the gravel roads to most villages, but it is not meant for rough off-road tracks. In winter the road to Gudauri can close briefly after heavy snow, so call us before you set off and check the Roads Department of Georgia for the current status. Trips to Armenia are possible too: get in touch on WhatsApp before you book so we can prepare the right car and the border documents. Other borders are not allowed.
