01The car rental service and these terms

GO Car Rental (also referred to as GoCar or GoCarRental) is a Georgia-based car rental company with its own fleet. We rent our own vehicles to travelers across Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Telavi and other locations in Georgia.

Every vehicle on the website is owned, maintained, inspected and photographed by GO Car Rental. The rental agreement for the vehicle is concluded between you and GO Car Rental and signed at handover; GO Car Rental confirms availability and supports you throughout the rental.

02Booking and payment terms for your car rental

First of all, rental rates are based on a 24-hour period beginning at the time of vehicle pickup. In other words, the price shown for each car covers the rental and standard insurance. A $20 service fee applies to every booking, and delivery to airports and other cities is charged per end (Tbilisi Airport $30, Kutaisi $120, Batumi $160); every fee is shown in the booking total before you pay.

• Reservation payment (15%) is paid online by Visa or MasterCard when you reserve. This confirms your reservation.
• Rental payment (the remaining balance) is paid in person to GO Car Rental when you collect the vehicle.
• After booking you receive an automatic email with your request details, followed by a confirmation from our support team. Your car is guaranteed once this confirmation is sent.

03Cancellation and changes

• Free cancellation: notify us at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time by email or phone and the reservation payment is refunded in full.
• Late cancellation or no-show: if notice is given less than 48 hours before pickup, the reservation payment is non-refundable.
• Changes: dates, pickup point or vehicle can be changed on the website or by contacting us. However, changes are subject to availability.
• Extensions: to extend a rental in progress, contact us directly. The additional days are paid at the daily rate in your booking.

04Driver requirements

• A valid driving license and passport must be presented at pickup.
• Licenses issued by countries that are signatories of the Vienna Convention are accepted as they are. All other licenses, including U.S. licenses, must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit (IDP), unless a bilateral agreement with Georgia applies.
• The vehicle may only be driven by the drivers named in the booking (see section 09 for additional drivers).

05Security deposit

GO Car Rental takes a refundable deposit of $200 at handover. It covers damage not included in the insurance coverage or the insurance deductible (franchise). The deposit is returned in full at the end of the rental when the vehicle is returned in the condition it was handed over. The deposit is returned at drop-off when the car comes back in the same condition.

06Insurance conditions of the car rental

All rental prices include standard insurance coverage: third-party liability, driver and passenger accident protection, and coverage for road traffic accidents and theft, which is the standard practice in Georgia. All vehicles are insured by GO Car Rental.

• The deductible for road traffic accidents is $200 USD.
• Insurance does not cover interior damage, tires, or certain exterior parts, nor damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, off-road driving contrary to GO Car Rental's instructions, or breach of these terms.
• Insurance claims are only valid with an official traffic police report. Without it the insurer may refuse to cover the damage and the renter is liable for the repair.

07Use of the vehicle

• The renter must drive carefully and in accordance with Georgian traffic law, and is responsible for fines and penalties incurred during the rental period.
• The vehicle must not be used for towing, racing, driving instruction, transporting goods for hire, or carrying more passengers than the number of seat belts.
• Smoking is not allowed inside the vehicles unless GO Car Rental explicitly permits it.
• The renter must return the vehicle at the agreed time and place, in the condition it was received, allowing for normal wear.

08Fuel and mileage

• Fuel policy: full to full. The car is delivered with a full tank and must be returned the same way. Missing fuel is reimbursed to us at handover.
• Unlimited mileage on all rentals within Georgia.

09Additional drivers and extras

• A second driver is added free of charge. Each additional driver beyond that costs $5 per day. All drivers must meet the requirements in section 04.
• Child seats are available on request for an additional charge. Please request them when booking.
• Other optional extras such as SIM cards, WiFi adapters, phone holders, snow chains, roof racks and walkie talkies can be arranged in advance, subject to availability.
• GPS units are not included; instead, we recommend Maps.me, Google Maps or Waze.

10Cross-border travel

Cross-border travel with a rental vehicle is permitted only to Armenia, and only when the necessary border documents have been arranged in advance by us. Therefore, please confirm with us before making your reservation if you plan to cross the border. Taking the vehicle out of Georgia without prior written permission is a breach of these terms and voids the insurance.

11Accidents, damage and theft

• In the event of a road accident, damage or theft, do not move the vehicle, call the traffic police (112) and make sure the incident is properly documented.
• Then inform GO Car Rental immediately.
• Failure to obtain a police report or to notify GO Car Rental may result in the insurance company refusing to cover the damages, in which case the renter is liable.
• If a flight is delayed, the car remains reserved: we monitor your flight details and adjust the handover time.
