Before you fly: car rental in Georgia basics
Which driver's license do I need to rent a car in Georgia?
If your license was issued by a country that signed the Vienna Convention (most of Europe, the UK, Israel, Turkey and many more), your national license is enough. If it was not (for example a U.S., Canadian or Australian license), bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) together with your national license. You will also need your passport at pickup.
How does booking and payment work, and what does it cost?
Pick your dates and pickup point, choose a car and pay only the 15% booking fee online by card. The rest is settled at pickup. Daily rates start at $35 for a sedan (Toyota Prius), $65 for a 4x4 SUV, $75 for a minibus and $200 for a car with a driver.
Which car is right for my Georgia trip?
For Tbilisi, Kakheti wine country, Batumi and the main highways a sedan is comfortable and cheapest. For Gudauri, Kazbegi, Svaneti, Tusheti or any winter trip choose a 4x4 SUV: mountain roads are steep and can be unpaved. Groups of 6 to 8 travel best in a minibus, and buses with a driver are available for larger tours.
At the airport
How does pickup work at Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi Airport?
Choose the airport as your pickup point and our colleague meets you in the arrivals hall or the designated parking area with the car, keys and documents. Delivery to your hotel or apartment in the city is available too. Every car is handed over with a full tank. Fees, night arrivals and meeting points: car rental at Tbilisi Airport, Kutaisi Airport and Batumi.
What if my flight is delayed?
Your car will still be waiting. Add your flight number to the booking and we monitor the arrival time and adjusts the handover, so there is no need to call from the plane.
Do I need to leave a deposit?
We take a refundable $200 deposit that covers the insurance deductible or minor damage not included in the coverage. It is returned when you bring the car back in the same condition.
On the road in Georgia with your rental car
Is insurance included, and what does it cover?
Yes. The rental price includes standard Georgian insurance: third-party liability, driver and passenger accident protection, and cover for road accidents and theft. The conditions are the same for every car in our fleet. Claims are only valid with an official traffic police report, so never move the car after an accident before the police arrive.
Is mileage unlimited? Can I drive anywhere in Georgia?
Mileage is unlimited, so you can drive freely from Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Svaneti, Batumi, Kutaisi, Borjomi or anywhere else in the country. Cross-border trips are possible only to Armenia, with border documents we arrange in advance, so tell us before booking.
What should I do in case of an accident or damage?
Stay safe, do not move the car, and call the police on 112 to document the incident. Then inform us immediately. Without a police report the insurance company may refuse to cover the damage.
What are the fuel, extra driver and child seat rules?
Fuel is full to full: return the car with a full tank or reimburse the missing fuel to us. A second driver is free; each additional driver is $5 per day. Child seats are available on request for a small extra charge, so let us know in advance.
Changes and cancellation
Can I extend or change my booking?
Yes. To extend the rental, contact us directly, even while you are on the road. To change dates, pickup point or the car, update the reservation on our website or contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free when you notify us at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time by email or phone. Later than that, the 15% booking fee is non-refundable.
