Tbilisi Airport at night: how the pickup works
Book online with your flight number. On the night, our colleague tracks the flight and waits at arrivals with a sign, whatever the hour. Delays do not matter, because we follow the live arrival time. You check the car together in the car park, sign the contract, pay the balance and the $200 cash deposit, and drive off. From landing to leaving the car park usually takes 30 to 40 minutes.
The airport pickup fee is $30 per end. Tbilisi city pickup is free, so a city handover is cheaper if you are happy to take a taxi first. Most night arrivals prefer the airport, because a taxi at 3 am costs almost the same and the car is ready for the morning.
What to have ready at Tbilisi Airport at night
- Your driving licence (and an International Driving Permit if you have one; it makes police stops simpler).
- Passport, and the booking confirmation on your phone.
- The balance of the rental and the $200 deposit in cash. Both are returned or settled when you bring the car back.

Drive on or sleep first?
For the city, drive. The airport road into Tbilisi is well lit, 17 km, and empty at night. For Kakheti, the highway to Sighnaghi or Telavi is fine at any hour. For the mountains, we advise against it. The road to Gudauri climbs to 2,200 m, and in winter the police close it or require chains at Kvesheti. Which cars suit a night arrival
Any car in the fleet can be delivered to the airport. For a late landing we suggest an automatic you can drive half asleep:
- Toyota Prius, $35 a day: quiet, automatic, cheap to run.
- Ford Fusion, $55 a day: comfortable hybrid sedan for the highway to Batumi.
- Renault Duster, $65 a day: the 4x4 for mountain plans the next morning.
- Toyota Sienna, $70 a day: eight seats for a family with luggage.
The autumn discount runs for pickups until 15 December 2026. It gives 5% off from 5 days and 10% off from 10 days on all cars except the Toyota Prius (flat $35). The Mazda CX-3 and Jeep Renegade get 15% off from 5 days and 25% off from 10 days. The booking form applies it automatically. The prices page lists every car.
Practical notes for the airport
- SIM cards and exchange desks are in the arrivals hall. The rates are worse than in the city, so change a small amount.
- Fuel: there is a petrol station on the airport road. The tank is handed over with a set level and returned the same way.
- Returning at night works the same way. Tell us the departure time and we meet you at the car park.
