The same terms as every car: insurance (CDW and TPL) and unlimited mileage included, a $20 service fee per booking, a refundable $200 cash deposit at pickup, drivers aged 22 and over, 15% paid online and the rest at pickup, free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
Where the Camry is the right choice
- Tbilisi for work. Meetings in Vake and Saburtalo, the airport run, and a quiet cabin for calls. Parking is paid in the centre; our driving in Tbilisi post explains the app.
- Tbilisi to Batumi. 370 km through the Rikoti tunnels in 5 to 6 hours, cruise control on, about 26 litres of fuel. See Tbilisi to Batumi by car.
- Kakheti. Sighnaghi, Telavi, Tsinandali and the wineries are all asphalt, including the Gombori pass.
- Kutaisi and Borjomi. Any main road in Georgia. The Camry is the car for a 7-day road trip that stays on tarmac.
Where it is not
The Camry is a low sedan with front-wheel drive. Keep it off gravel (Juta, Ushguli, Tusheti, the end of the David Gareja road) and off the Jvari pass to Gudauri in snow. Kazbegi from April to November is fine on the paved road. For winter mountains, book a Duster or a RAV4.
Toyota Camry in Georgia: your questions
Camry or Prius?
The Prius is $35 and uses less fuel. The Camry is newer, quieter, faster on the highway and has the bigger boot. For two people on a budget take the Prius; for a client in the passenger seat take the Camry.
Camry or Ford Fusion?
The Fusion is $55 and a hybrid, so cheaper to run. The Camry is the newer car. Both are comfortable sedans; the choice is mostly about which one is free on your dates.
Can I pick it up at the airport?
Yes, at any hour. Tbilisi Airport is $30 per end with our colleague waiting at arrivals, and Kutaisi and Batumi are $120 and $160.
Is it good for a long-term rental?
Yes. Ten days come to $540 with the 10% discount, and a month is $1,620. Remote workers often take the Camry for the city and swap to a 4x4 for a mountain week; see long-term car rental.
Can I take the Camry to Armenia?
Ask us first. Cross-border trips need the $70 document option and our agreement on the car; for Armenia we usually suggest the Renegade or the CX-3.
